I am a born and bred Yooper. For those outside of Michigan, a Yooper is a person living in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. 

I have spent my life writing: diaries and journals in early elementary, stories and plays in middle school, poetry and narratives in high school and college, and later, newsletters, articles... I've never NOT written. 

In my time teaching, working with students on their writing was always exciting...and exhausting. Our Friday Authors' Chair time was the students' favorite part of the week. They would take turns sharing their work with the class, while the other students asked questions or told their favorite parts. I just loved watching their writing journeys develop.

I wrote a young adult dystopian future novella in 2019 and had it published through Page Publishing. For me, it was a validation that I needed to write as a living. Though I loved teaching and miss it, I'm so excited to be writing full-time!

I currently live in the UP with my husband, Mike, and our fur baby, Daisy.
